27 - 30 September was Held XVth International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory, DIPED-2010

The West Ukraine Chapter co-sponsored this September the annual International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory
(DIPED-2010). The event was held at the Tbilisi State University, Tbilisi, Georgia. The Georgian Chatter was co-sponsor of the DIPED-2010 as well; the IEEE Solid State Circuits and Electron Devices Societies provided the technical and financial co-sponsorship for the Seminar/Workshop.
This year, the DIPED Seminar/Workshop was dedicated to 70th anniversary of Prof. Nikolai Voitovich, who is permanent co-chairman of all previous DIPEDs, organizer and first Chairman of the West Ukraine Chapter. Owing his efforts and technical and financial support of the IEEE, the non-formal meeting of the scientists from Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine was renewed as the annual joint Seminar/Workshop of both the MTT/ED/AP/CPMT/SSC West Ukraine and
MTT/ED/AP/EMC Georgian Chapters and received the status of international scientific event in 1995. The successful holding all DIPEDs in many aspects indebts to Prof. Voitovich, his enthusiasms, organization efforts, and permanent care.
The DIPED-2010 topics were extended to IC modeling and MEMS design together with traditional
subjects of electromagnetic theory, antenna design, and acoustics. The next themes were suggested
for the contributed papers.
.. Theoretical aspects of electrodynamics
.. Waveguide and photonic crystal structures
.. Diffraction theory
.. Inverse problems and synthesis
.. Propagation and scattering in complex media
.. Antennas and antenna arrays
.. Numerical methods in electrodynamics
.. Integrated Circuit Modeling
.. Models and methods for MEMS
.. Acoustics: theory and applications.

We invite all bachelor degree students to Magistracy , with the speciality "Computer Simulation of Physical Processes".

Lectures in MATLAB.

Laboratory of Applied Electrodynamics (LAE) is a research and development division of the Tbilisi State University (TSU).

Located in second building of TSU, the Laboratory employs approximately 20 scientists, and supporting staff in a broad of disciplines (Team Presentation).

Laboratory is the kernel of the Georgian Chapters on IEEE ED/AP/MTT.

Members of the Laboratory are representatives of Georgia in European Committee COST243 (Electromagnetic Compatibility in Electrical and Electronic Apparatus and Systems) and in TransBlack See Region Committee in Applied Electrodynamics.

Since September 1, 2007, Dr. David Kakulia is the head of LAE.

The reason of the successful work of the LAE team was earlier and remains nowadays an original numerical method (MAS) for solution of complicated shape antenna and other diffraction problems.

Together with the scientific work, members of LAE participate in the process of education in order to bring up the young generation of physicists.

Members of LAE deliver lectures at the Institute of Physics of Tbilisi State University.

We invite all bachelor degree students to Magistracy - Experimental Physics, with the speciality "Computer Simulation of Physical Processes" (module V).

We are seeking Partners and Collaborators in order to submit joint proposals. Here please find the main topics proposed by our staff.
